For Baby

Clear and Simple Stamps is sponsoring this week’s sketch at Card Patterns. Here’s my baby-themed take on this week’s sketch.

I used the Cart Pals: Baby stamp set for my focal image panel. I stamped the flat cart image, then added the stack of presents topped with the stuffed bunny on top. The image is colored with Copic markers to match the colors in the dotted kraft paper I used for one of the card’s two triangular panels.

To tie the patterned and solid cardstock pieces together, I embossed the solid piece with a dot pattern and then machine stitched along the edge of the embossed panel. I layered the pieces on a darker pink card base, then added the colored image panel. I stamped the set’s “for baby” sentiment on a light pink notch-edged strip and attached that at the top of the image panel. I couldn’t find a clip type embellishment to add to the strip, so in the end, I omitted it.

Be sure to check out the Card Patterns blog for more inspiring samples and all the details on this week’s challenge.
