One Cool Chick
Here’s my card for the current Paper Smooches Sparks inspiration challenge. I loved the fun mix of fonts and colors on the sign that serves as the inspiration photo , so I used that as the jumping off point for my card.
I picked a sentiment from the My Peeps set that featured a mix of fonts and a stacked text arrangement. It’s stamped in black ink on a red panel. I attached the panel to the bottom of a light blue cardstock square. I stamped the open circle pattern from the Primary set in navy ink on a navy panel and set that above the text stamped panel, separated by a strip of fuzzy white velvet ric rac.
To match the sentiment, I stamped one of the set’s bird images on white cardstock and colored it with Copic markers, then cut it out. I used a dimensional dot to set it on a white panel, then layered the panel on a turquoise circle. Another dimensional dot adheres the circle to the panel, just above the sentiment. Since the inspiration photo featured a sign/poster, I layered the panel on a navy mat, then on a white card base for a somewhat framed look.
Materials Used:
from i {heart} papers: Paper Smooches My Peeps and Primary stamp sets, , X-Press white Copic blending cardstock, Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black and Paris Dusk inks, Copic markers (R12, R14, R17, B00, B01, B02, B04, YR15), May Arts white velvet ric rac, Sticky Thumb dimensional dots
other: Night of Navy, Poppy Parade, Baja Breeze, and Tempting Turquoise cardstock (Stampin' Up!); circle punches (EK Success)
