TCP Tuesday-The Sky's the Limit

This week’s TCP Tuesday challenge is a great sketch created by Leigh. I love the fun decorative edge along the card’s left side. There are a bunch of CutUps dies that you can use for this and the design team’s done a fabulous job of showing them off. Be sure to check Alma's blog for links to all of the beauties posted this week.

I used the hot air balloon flying bunny from the Away We Go set for my focal image. I colored the image with Copic markers and cut it out, using a combination of scissors and a sharp craft knife, then set the image on a dot embossed blue panel. I added a few felt clouds, cut with the CutUps Cloud Border die, to give the panel a sky-like look.

For the panel behind the image, I arranged a combination of solid and dotted green triangular pieces on a contrasting blue panel. I machine stitched around the edges to give the panel a nice, unified look, then added the image on top. I stamped the set’s “the sky’s the limit” sentiment on a blue oval die cut with one of the dies from the CutUps Circus Panel set. The panel is set on a green card base. I trimmed a little bit off of the cardfront’s left edge to accommodate the aqua Inside Pinking Border die cut strip while still allowing the card to fit in a standard sized envelope.

If you give the sketch a try, be sure to upload your card to the guestbook on Alma's blog to be entered for a chance to win this week's Cat Cash prize. There's a release coming up soon (peeks start next week!), so you're going to want to have a little cash, Cat or otherwise, to spend . . .
