Floral Thank You

Here's my card for this week's I Spy Sketches sketch challenge.  I was drawn to the shape of the background panel, which is something I'd never have thought to try on my own. I paired the sketch with the colors from this month's Market Street Stamps Paint the Town color challenge to make a floral thank you card.

I managed to squeeze in three different Market Street Stamps sets on this card--one of the flowers from the So Happy set as the focal image, the "thank you" sentiment from the Hippie Chic set, and the Bit of Burlap background stamp to add interest to the pale pink panel covering most of the cardfront.  The flower's stamped in a darker pink ink on pale cardstock and cut out.  I attached an orange baker's twine threaded button at the flower's center before using a dimensional dot to set the flower on the card.  The flower's set on a dotted patterned paper panel that I dressed up with a strip of faux suede ribbon

It took me a little while to figure out how to get the curved shape for the top of the background panel.  I ended up tracing around the edge of a large oval die to get the nice elongated curve.  The patterned paper panel is layered on a darker pink panel for a finished look.  I used the same pink cardstock for the card base to tie the design together.

Materials Used:
from i {heart} papers:  Market Street Stamps So Happy, Hippie Chic, and Bit of Burlap stamp sets, Tsukineko Memento Angel Pink ink, Echo Park Playground and Springtime Collection Kits, May Arts light blue faux suede ribbon, Divine Twine orange baker's twine, Sticky Thumb dimensional dots

other:  Berry Sorbet ink, Berry Sorbet and Sweet Blush cardstock, Summer Sunrise button (Papertrey Ink); circle punch (EK Success)
