A Little Birdie Told Me
Here's my card for this week's CAS-ual Fridays challenge to use bird images. I combined the challenge with a more simplified version of this week's sketch from I Spy Sketches.
I built the card on a pale blue cardfront. I started with a scrap of green dotted paper that I free-hand cut to create a hilly-looking piece to serve as "grass" at the bottom of the card. I stamped the branch image from the Tweet Notes set from Clear and Simple Stamps and colored the leaves with a Copic marker. I stamped one of the set's bird images on a scrap of white cardstock, colored it, and cut it out, then used foam tape to perch it on the branch image. The "a little birdie told me" sentiment from the Best Bunnies set is stamped under the branch in green ink.
To keep the image from looking like it was floating in space, I added a pair of felt clouds, one cut with a die from the Spring die set and the other free-hand cut, to the panel just above the branch. I wrapped a length of olive green twine around the card a few times and secured it with a button threaded with more of the same twine.
