Pinterest Inspired
This week's Our Craft Lounge challenge is all about inspiration. We're challenging you to find something on Pinterest that inspires you and to make something based on the pin.
Here's my creation for the challenge. This fun invitation suite that incorporates a few really hot trends—chevrons, ombre, pennants, and a yellow/gray color scheme—caught my eye. I made my own version in no time at all using OCL’s Every Heart Beat set.
To get the multishaded chevron, I stamped the chevron three times. The chevron on the bottom (stamped first) was stamped with Memento’s Cantaloupe ink, then I reinked the stamp and stamped the image again, carefully lining up the image so I’d get a darker image. The middle chevron was stamped once. The top and palest chevron was stamped without reinking the stamp after stamping the middle image. So, I was able to get three shades of ink from one ink pad pretty quickly and easily. Once I’d finished the chevrons, I added a gray notch-ended strip at the left side of the panel. It’s accented with a trio of star brads. I stamped the set’s “you rock” sentiment underneath the chevrons in gray ink.
So, take a look at your Pinterest boards and see what inspires you to create. Link up your Pinterest-inspired creation to this week's challenge post on the OCL blog. One participant from this month's challenges will be randomly selected to win an OCL gift certificate--winner will be posted at the beginning of next month.
Materials Used:
Every Heart Beat stamp set (Our Craft Lounge); Memento Cantaloupe and London Fog inks (Tsukineko); Sweet Corn cardstock (Gina K Designs); Basic Gray cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); silver star brads (Recollections)
