Take it Easy

Here’s my card for the current Lawnscaping color splash challenge. I didn’t get a chance to use my new Dad’s Day stamp set before Father’s Day, but I inked it up for this masculine card for the challenge.

I used neutral kraft and white along with a bit of teal blue as my color scheme. The card’s layout comes from this week’s CPS sketch. I stamped the armchair in teal ink on white cardstock, then cut it out and used dimensional dots to attach it to a simple background with a white “wall” and a faux woodgrain “floor.” The faux woodgrain was easy to do with a little help from my ScorBuddy, distress ink, and white pigment ink.

I placed the chair on the panel so there’d be plenty of room for the “take it easy” sentiment. I stamped the sentiment in the same teal as the chair and accented it with a single copper brad. The circle underneath the sentiment is stamped with Lawn Fawn’s Chevron Backdrops set. I used the new Memento Toffee Crunch ink on the kraft cardstock—love how it looks on kraft!

Materials Used:
from i {heart} papers: Lawn Fawn Dad’s Day and Chevron Backdrops stamp sets, Tsukineko Memento Teal Zeal and Toffee Crunch inks, Sticky Thumb dimensional dots, ScorBuddy

other: Blue Bayou, Crumb Cake, and Whisper White cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); Tea Dye distress ink (Ranger); Fresh Snow ink (Papertrey Ink); circle punches (EK Success); copper brad (Recollections)
