You Rock

Here's my card for this week's CAS-ual Friday challenge to create a card with embossing.  I used this week's sketch from Clean and Simple Stamping along with some Lawn Fawn stamps to create this simple, bold design.

I started by finding a trio of cardstock scraps in different shades of pink.  After arranging them from light to dark, I stamped one of the chevron patterns from Lawn Fawn's Chevron Backdrops set repeatedly on the cardstock with Versamark ink, then heat embossed the image with clear embossing powder for a subtle, tone on tone look.  To keep the papers aligned while I stamped, I adhered them to a narrow cardstock strip.  The strip's not visible after it's adhered to the card base and it makes the stamping a lot easier!  I attached the stamped and embossed panels to a white card base, then stamped the "you rock" sentiment from the Stay Tuned set along the side in a coordinating pink ink.  I finished it off with a line of bling along the edge of the embossed panel.

Materials Used:
from i {heart} papers:  Lawn Fawn Chevron Backdrops and Stay Tuned stamp sets, Tsukineko Memento Rose Bud ink,

other:  Melon Mambo and Pink Pirouette cardstock, clear embossing powder (Stampin' Up!); Bubblegum Pink cardstock (Gina K Designs); white cardstock (Georgia Pacific); Versamark ink (Tsukineko); clear crystals (Michaels)
