Glad Tidings
Here's my card for this week's Waltzingmouse sketch challenge. I used the sketch to make a winter card with a peaceful, serene feel.
The multiple shades of blue help give the card its peaceful feel. The image panel features one of the trees from the Teeny Trees set on a blue panel with torn shimmery white cardstock strips along the bottom for a snowbank like look. The treetop image was stamped on the same shimmery white ink with a pale blue ink, stamped off once for an ever paler look.
I matted the panel on a darker blue oval before setting it on a light blue houndstooth patterned paper. The set's "glad tidings" sentiment is stamped underneath the panel on the right side of the card. Instead of using another sentiment at the top left of the panel, I added a die cut snowflake with a blue crystal at the center.
Materials Used:
Teeny Trees stamp set (Waltzingmouse Stamps); Memento Teal Zeal and Rich Cocoa inks (Tsukineko); Soft Sky Classic ink, Not Quite Navy, Baja Breeze, and Shimmery White cardstock (Stampin' Up!); The Winter Combo matstack (DCWV); oval dies (Spellbinders); CutUps Snowflake Lace Paper die (The Cat's Pajamas); blue crystal (Darice); foam tape
