Paper Smooches SPARKS-November Designer Drafts

This week’s Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge is a Designer Drafts challenge.  I made a whimsical birthday card based on the sketch.

I used one of the critters from the Birthday Buddies set in a simple scene. The image is colored with Copic markers and cut out, then set on a kraft panel with dimensional dots so he looks like he’s popping right out of the ground. I used a piece of paper with a subtle grid pattern to make a sky-like background and added a fluffy white felt cloud accented with a yellow twine tied button sun. Instead of having a scalloped strip along the bottom edge of the image panel, I adhered a strip of green die cut grass directly on the bottom of the panel.

The panel is set on a light blue cardfront covered with a pair of coordinating patterned papers from the Seen & Noted paper pad. I stamped the set’s “happy b-earth day” sentiment in the bottom right corner of the card in black ink.

Be sure to check out the Paper Smooches SPARKS blog to see what the SPARKS team has created using the sketch.
