Paper Smooches SPARKS-December Trend Watch Challenge

This week's Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge is a Trend Watch challenge based on this photo of a retro camera.

Instead of using a camera image, I went with a Polaroid style frame around a scene created with the Get Outta Town set.  I stamped the palm tree pair and colored them with Copic markers, then stamped the sun at the opposite side of the panel in a mix of orange and yellow inks.  I used some distress inks for the sky and the warm glow around the sun.  The sand is made from torn kraft cardstock strips, inked along the edges with white pigment ink, then layered at the bottom of the panel.  The scene is framed with a die cut photo frame.  I stamped the set's "go to your happy place" in blue ink at the bottom of the frame and accented it with a button tied with matching baker's twine.

To set the image off from the light green cardfront, I adhered a piece of chevron patterned paper to the card before adding the image at an angle.  To bring in the rest of the colors I used in the scene, I attached a piece of chevron patterned decorative tape at the bottom of the patterned paper panel.
