Color Throwdown 244-Celebrate Today
It’s time for another Color Throwdown! Lynn is our hostess this week. She’s chosen Tempting Turquoise, Pink Passsion, Daffodil Delight, and Going Gray as our colors. I love the look of those bold colors with the more muted gray!
I kept things pretty clean and simple for my card, using the current sketch from Clean and Simple Stamping as the starting point for my design. I stamped a bunch of the large sketched circle image from Papertrey Ink’s Sketched Shapes stamp set on a piece of white cardstock in inks close to the challenge colors. The circles were punched out with a 1” circle punch, then layered on a slightly larger gray circle. I arranged the circles on a white card base, staggering their placement to add interest.
The “celebrate today” sentiment from the Bountiful Banners set was heat embossed in white on a gray notch-ended strip and set over the circles with foam tape. To add a little sparkle to the design, I added some coordinating sequins to the circles.
To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD244. Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team and May's guest designer, Audrey Hiltke.
Materials Used:
Stitched Shapes and Bountiful Banners stamp sets (Papertrey Ink); Memento Rose Bud, Dandelion, and Bahama Blue inks (Tsukineko); white pigment ink (WPlus9); Fog cardstock (Avery Elle); 1” circle punch (EK Success); circle die (Spellbinders); white embossing powder, sequins (Michaels); foam tape
