Hot Dog

I think the new Critters at the Dog Park stamp set from Lawn Fawn is just the cutest thing! Like I said before, the only thing that would make this set better is an image that resembles my fluffy goldendoodle, the inimitable Chloe the cutie puppy.  For now, the puppy from the original Critters in the Burbs set will have to serve as her stand in!  For this card, I used the dachshund image from the Critters in the Dog Park set to put together a simple design for the current CAS-ology challenge cue word “furry.”

The dachshund image is stamped on a matching die cut piece and colored with Spectrum Noir markers. I made a simple scene for behind the dog using a combination of a piece of green gingham paper punched along the top with a grass border punch and a piece of marbled looking blue paper, both from the Carta Bella Cool Summer paper pad. To add a little texture, I debossed the blue paper with a tiny dot pattern and added a pair of white felt clouds.  The dog is set on the scene with some dimensional dots.  The set’s “hot dog” sentiment is stamped on a green notch-ended strip and set at the top of the blue panel with a green twine-tied button to anchor it.  After rounding the corners of the gingham panel, I adhered the small scene to a light blue card base.

Materials Used:
from i {heart} papers: Lawn Fawn Critters at the Dog Park stamp set and Critters at the Dog Park dies, Crafter’s Companion ultrasmooth white cardstock, Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black ink, Spectrum Noir markers (TN3, TN6, TN7, IG3), Carta Bella Cool Summer 6x6 paper pad, Divine Twine green apple baker’s twine, Pollika white felt, Sticky Thumb dimensional dots
