Hoppy Halloween

Here’s my card for the current Lawnscaping challenge to use distress products. I paired my distress markers with Lawn Fawn’s Hoppy Halloween set for this fun card featuring a simple nighttime scene.

The bunny image was heat embossed on watercolor paper, then colored with distress markers and a waterbrush. He (or maybe the bunny's a she?) is set on a background panel also made with distress markers.

For the grass, I drew a wavy line along the bottom third of a piece of watercolor paper, then filled in the space beneath the line with several different green markers, then blended the inks with a waterbrush. To get the nighttime sky, I scribbled a few blue and purple markers randomly across the top two-thirds of the paper and again used my waterbrush to blend the colors. Once I was done with blending, I used my brush to dribble a few drops of water on the sky for a star-like appearance. The moon and stars (I used two stars from the Lucky Stars set along with the one in the Hoppy Halloween set to get the three different sizes you see here) were filled in with a yellow marker. The set’s “Hoppy Halloween” sentiment was stamped and embossed at the bottom of the panel.

The finished panel was adhered to a purple card base over a piece of green patterned paper along with a strip of green twill ribbon. I just love that little bunny image--it's too cute!
