Ruffle Your Feathers

Here’s my card for this week’s My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club sketch challenge. I used a bold and bright color scheme inspired by some older designer paper for my scrappy design.

I started with a piece of paper with multicolored stripes. I used a piece of the reverse side of the paper for the panel that runs across the cardfront, then wrapped a piece of turquoise stitched grosgrain ribbon around the panel before securing it to a coordinating green card base.

I stamped the “don’t let life ruffle your feathers” sentiment from the Right on Target set in green ink on a white panel. The panel is matted on turquoise cardstock and set on the cardfront. A purple double ended banner strip is adhered to the bottom of the sentiment panel. I topped the banner strip with a pair of die cut feathers, made with the Die-namics Arrow and Feathers dies, and a twine-tied turquoise button.

Materials Used:
Right on Target stamp set, Jellybean Green ink, Die-namics Arrow and Feathers and Fishtail Flag Stax dies, Blue Raspberry button (My Favorite Things); Elegant Eggplant and Whisper White cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); Hawaiian Shores and Simply Chartreuse cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Peacock Lane Stripes designer paper (BoBunny); Caribbean baker’s twine (The Twinery)
