Merry and Bright

Here’s a clean and simple holiday design for the current sketch at Retro Sketches. I used stamps from three different Papertrey Ink stamp sets to put this one together.

Designed by Lori Tecler-Inking Aloud-stamps from Papertrey Ink
The snowflakes on the light blue panel come from the Snowfall and Snowfall Additions stamp sets. They’re stamped randomly over the panel in shimmery silver ink. I stamped the “merry and bright” from the Grand Ampersand set in navy ink on a piece of shimmery white cardstock and added that to the snowflake stamped panel, using a navy mat to set it off from the light blue.

The stamped panel is adhered to a navy panel along with a wide strip of shimmery silver paper. For more sparkle, I ran a narrow strip of double sided adhesive along the edge of the silver paper and covered it with glitter.  I matted the panel with the same silver paper, then adhered it to a navy card base.  I finished the design by adding clear crystals to the center of each snowflake, varying the sizes of the crystals to match the sizes of the snowflakes.

Materials Used:
Snowfall, Snowfall Additions, and Grand Ampersand stamp sets (Papertrey Ink); Night of Navy, Soft Sky, and Shimmery White cardstock, Dazzling Diamonds (Stampin’ Up!); Encore Silver ink (Tsukineko); silver paper (Target); clear crystals (Michaels)
