Thanksgiving Wishes

I'm joining in on this month's Waltzingmouse Stamps Pajama Party.  My card is for the thankfulness themed challenge.  I created a Thanksgiving design using a combination of seasonal colors and natural images, plus a few trendy elements.

Thanksgiving Wishes-designed by Lori Tecler-Inking Aloud-stamps from Waltzingmouse StampsThe layout is based on this sketch from the Clean and Simple Stamping blog.  For the pattern underneath the focal image, I stamped a kraft card base with the large background stamp from Waltzingmouse's Woodgrain stamp set using kraft colored pigment ink.

While I waited for the pigment ink to dry, I got to work on the wood veneer leaves I used for the focal image. I wanted a little more contrast against the kraft background, so I colored the leaves with Copic markers.  The markers worked nicely to add a little color to the wood pieces--and didn't require any drying time.  I adhered them to the top of the panel and added a few orange enamel dots for interest.

I stamped the "Thanksgiving wishes" sentiment from the Say it Loud-Winter Holiday stamp set in brown ink on a cream panel.  It's edged with on trend gold paper, then matted on an orange panel to coordinate with the color of the leaves.  I adhered the sentiment panel beneath the leaves, leaving just a bit of the woodgrain pattern visible along the bottom edge of the card.

Materials Used:
Woodgrain and Say It Loud-Winter Holidays stamp sets (Waltzingmouse Stamps); Memento Luxe Toffee Crunch and Rich Cocoa inks (Tsukineko); markers (Copic); Pumpkin Pie and Very Vanilla cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Desert Storm cardstock (Neenah); gold paper (Target); wood veneer leaves (Michaels); orange enamel dots (Doodlebug Designs)
