It’s time for another Color Throwdown! Wanda is our hostess this week and she’s shared a pretty color combination with us—Wisteria Wonder, Garden Green, Almost Amethyst, Crumb Cake, and Black. It’s been a while since I’ve done something floral, so I decided to use the colors to make a simple, elegant floral thank you card.
I used the multistep floral spray image from Avery Elle’s Love Notes set for my card. Instead of stamping the flowers on a white panel, I used an Almost Amethyst one. The flower looks so nice against the pale purple background! It’s stamped in a combination of regular Memento and Memento Luxe inks. The sentiment is stamped beneath it in Luxe Tuxedo Black ink.
I layered the image over a part of a white paper doily adhered to a kraft on kraft striped panel. Once the panel was in place, I machine stitched across the top, even managing to keep my stitching fairly straight! A few gold sequins add a little sparkle to the design. I layered the panel on a kraft mat, then set it on an Almost Amethyst card base.
To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD275.
Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team, our January guestie, Linda McClain, and our Guest Star Stamper, Julie Smith. That’s right—we’re now inviting our Featured Stampers to join us for a future challenge and bring you even more inspiration!
