Wood You Be Mine?
Here’s my card for this week’s sketch at Retro Sketches. I used a few new things from My Favorite Things to put this one together.
The focal image is a stamped woodgrain circle, peeking through a round opening in a piece of kraft cardstock. I stamped the “wood you be mine?” sentiment from the Wood You Be Mine? stamp set over the woodgrain pattern in red ink. I used pigment inks to stamp both the woodgrain pattern and the sentiment to get the nice, clean layers of color.
The woodgrain circle is accented with a red die cut heart. A trio of silver sequins scattered around it adds a little sparkle to the simple design. For contrast, I added a piece of bold red chevron patterned paper to the top of the cardfront above the kraft panel.
Materials Used:
Wood You Be Mine stamp set, Electric Red cardstock, Die-Namics Staggered Heart Border die (My Favorite Things); Memento Luxe Toffee Crunch and Love Letter inks (Tsukineko); white cardstock, silver sequins (Michaels); Desert Storm cardstock (Neenah); Be Loved 6x6 paper pad (Fancy Pants); stitched circle die (Lil’ Inker Designs); foam tape
