Happy Bee-Day
Here's my card for this week's sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. I didn't quite stick to the sketch, but I think it's close enough to still count!
Instead of using an array of items in two columns along the right side of the light blue panel, I stamped a hexagon image from the Clear and Simple Stamps Hexagons Plus set in gray ink. Since the hexagons are a single image, I didn't have to worry about lining up a bunch of individual images, which can sometimes be a challenge!
The image made the perfect backdrop for the bee image from the Taglines: Critters set. I used foam tape to adhere the bee to give it a little dimension, then added a little piece of a clear crystal flourish extending out from behind the bee as a flight trail. The "happy bee-day" sentiment is stamped next to the bee in gray ink. I wrapped some yellow baker's twine around the top of the panel and secured it with a bow. The finished panel is adhered to a light gray card base.
Materials Used:
Hexagons Plus and Taglines: Critters stamp sets, You're Such a Gray-cious Host and Perfect Little Black Dress inks, Trendsetter Blue, I Steel Got It, and A Blanc Check cardstock, Copic markers-Y11, Y13,Y15, Y18, B0000 (Clear and Simple Stamps); yellow baker's twine (The Twinery); Dazzling Diamonds (Stampin' Up!); clear crystal flourish (Michaels); foam tape
