Color Throwdown 287-Welcome Little One
It’s time for another Color Throwdown! It’s my turn to host this week and I chose a soft pastel color combination based on a sweet and perfect for springtime centerpiece.
I used the colors along with the current sketch from Retro Sketches to make a baby card. These pastel colors seemed perfect for a baby theme! I used one of the Clear and Simple Stamps Baby Shower dies to cut a giraffe from yellow gingham patterned paper. To give the shape a little definition, I added an eye using a small gray enamel dot.
I used foam tape to adhere the giraffe to a background made from blue dotted paper and mint green strips die cut with CSS’s Grass die. The “welcome little one” sentiment from the Special Delivery set was stamped just above the giraffe’s back using You’re Such a Gray-cious Host ink. I added a sweet little die cut cloud to fill in the top of the scene, then adhered it to a yellow gingham panel set on a white card base. I tucked a blue satin ribbon tab underneath the left edge of the gingham panel, then scattered a few mint green sequins around the image panel to complete the design.
To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. Just be sure that the challenge colors are the primary colors featured in your creation. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD287.
Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team and our April guestie, Jeanne Jachna.
