Say Watt?

I was chatting with my friend Lesley on Facebook yesterday morning and she offered me a sneak peek at her latest sketch challenge, starting on her blog this morning.  She always comes up with great layouts and there are lots of possibilities with this one!

Say Watt? card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from My Favorite Things
Here's my take on the fun design using some new goodies from My Favorite Things.  The unpredictability of ink splotches kind of makes me nervous, so I kept the splotches to a minimum and used a die cut image as my largest element on the design.  I die cut the pieces of the Die-namics Lightbulb die from a few different paper scraps and assembled the die cut pieces into the bulb you see here.

The panel behind the bulb was splattered with some yellow ink spray--instead of spraying it, I took the nozzle out of the bottle and gently tapped on the end to drip ink on my cardstock panel.  After the ink dried, I added the bulb using foam tape.  The "say watt?" sentiment from the Watt's Up stamp set was stmped next to the bulb in black pigment ink.  I scattered a trio of silver sequins among the ink splotches, then adhered the finished panel to a cardfront edged with a strip of shiny silver paper.

Materials Used:
Watt's Up stamp set, Electric Red, Steel Grey, and Lemon Drop cardstock, Die-namics Lightbulb dies (My Favorite Things); silver paper (Target); Memento Luxe Tuxedo Black ink, Dandelion Fireworks spray (Tsukineko); black twine (Hemptique); silver sequins (Treehouse Studio); foam tape
