It’s time for another Color Throwdown! Cindy is our hostess this week and she’s chosen this fun color palette—Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight, Smoky Slate, and White. I used the colors along with the current Deconstructed Sketch to make a masculine card.
I built my design on a panel of yellow striped paper. The trio of solid cardstock rectangles in the challenge colors is a nice contrast against the busy stripes. I wrapped the panels with some cream twine before securing them to the striped paper. A strategically placed yellow cardstock star hides the spot where the twine overlaps at the center. The “world’s greatest” sentiment from the WPlus9 Epic Dad stamp set was stamped on the Bermuda Bay panel in gray pigment ink. I die cut the word “dad” three times from gray cardstock using a die from the Epic Dad die set, then adhered the three die cut pieces together to get a nice dimensional look before attaching them beneath the stamped sentiment.
To bring in a bit more pattern, I tucked a short fishtail flag strip cut from blue dotted patterned paper underneath the layered rectangles. A few gray enamel dots finished the design.
To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. Just be sure that the challenge colors are the dominant ones in your project. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD297.
Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team, our June guestie, Susie Moore, and this week’s guest star stamper, Pat Knowlton.
