Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #227-Hello Baby

It’s time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge! I used this week's sketch to put together a sweet gender neutral baby card using stamps and dies from Clear and Simple Stamps.

Hello Baby card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Clear and Simple Stamps
I used one of the giraffe dies from the Baby Shower die set to cut a giraffe from dotted patterned paper. One of the great things about this die set is that there are two of each of the animals (giraffe, elephant, and bird) in this set and they are mirror images of each other so you can pick which way you want the animal to "face" on your card.  The giraffe's eye is made with a teeny, tiny black enamel dot.  I made a simple scene for the giraffe from blue cardstock with a strip of green die cut grass along the bottom.  The "hello baby" sentiment, made by combining parts of two different sentiments from the Baby Sentiments stamp set, was stamped next to the giraffe in gray ink.

I adhered a trio of golden yellow cardstock strips diagonally across a yellow gingham patterned paper panel, then added the scene on top.  The little tab at the upper left side of the image panel is actually a small tag die cut.  I tucked the part with the hole underneath the image panel, then added a green button tied with yellow twine on top.

To play along, just create a card based on the sketch and link it up on Karen’s blog. For lots of inspiration be sure to check out what the other Sweet Sunday Sketch stampers have created for you this week. Here’s where to find them:

  2. Absolutely precious Lori. I love how you used the sketch. I needed this card earlier this week for a friend. I know she would have loved it as much as I do. :)
