You Warm My Heart

It's been a while since I played along at Poppy Sketches, so when I saw that the "pop" to go with the current sketch was houndstooth, I knew I wanted to create a wintery design inspired by the pattern. Here's my sweet take on the sketch, featuring stamps and dies from Lawn Fawn.

You Warm My Heart card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Lawn Fawn
I used one of the bunnies from the Snow Day set.  It was stamped on kraft cardstock and cut with the matching die.  To add some texture, I covered the bunny's tail with white flock.  After die cutting a heart from red cardstock, I used dimensional dots to arrange the pair at the top of a blue and cream houndstooth panel

The set's "you warm my heart" sentiment was stamped on the panel in red pigment ink. I edged the houndstooth paper with matching red cardstock, then added a bit of whimsical pom pom trim to the bottom before adding it to a cream panel.  The cream panel was adhered to a warm kraft card base.

Materials Used:
from i {heart} papers:  Lawn Fawn Snow Day stamp set and Snow Day dies; Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black ink and Memento Luxe Love Letter ink; Fancy Pants Be Different 6x6 paper pad; May Arts white pom pom trim; Sticky Thumb dimensional dots

other:  Real Red cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Desert Storm cardstock (Neenah); white flock (Stampendous)

  1. Super cute card Lori! Love the houndstooth, the pom pom trim, and, of course, that adorable Lawn Fawn critter!
