I used a pale gray panel for my background. I added a strip of navy striped paper, edged with a very narrow navy cardstock strip, to bring in the striped element from the largest letter in the inspiration photo. After placing a solid navy cardstock strip from my scrap pile across the panel, I added the boat on top, using foam tape for dimension. The "happy birthday" sentiment from the Bosom Buddy set was stamped in navy ink on a narrow gray cardstock strip and positioned beneath the boat. The traditional typewriter style font of the text seemed like a nice way to bring in the fun font element from the inspiration photo. The finished panel was adhered to a navy card base.
Materials Used:
Wicked Nauticool and Bosom Buddy stamp sets, Nauticool dies (Paper Smooches); Memento Tuxedo Black and Nautical Blue inks (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); markers (Copic); Night of Navy cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Grout Gray cardstock (My Favorite Things); Warm Heart 6x6 paper pad (Reverse Confetti); foam tape
A fabulous take on the inspiration photo! Crisp, fresh and CAS! Your little sailboat is especially wonderful! So thrilled you shared your artistry in the FUSION gallery!
