I Think You're Swell

I Think You're Swell card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps from Reverse Confetti
Here's a super quick card for the current sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.  As soon as I saw the wavy panel at the bottom of the cardfront, I thought of water, so I used the layout as a backdrop for the whale from Reverse Confetti's Seaside stamp set.  The whale was stamped in gray pigment ink, then cut out with the matching die.  To break up the gray a bit, I dotted the whale's eye with a bit of light blue Liquid Pearls--and managed to not smear it before it dried!  For the wavy water, I used a stitched die to cut a blue striped panel.  I placed it at the bottom of a pale blue card base--RC's Mist is perfect for a light blue sky!  The whale was added to the panel with foam tape.  I finished the card by stamping the set's "I think you're swell" sentiment in contrasting red ink.  The little pop of red adds just the right contrast to the design.

Materials Used:
Seaside stamps, Mist cardstock, Warm Heart 6x6 paper pad, Seaside dies (Reverse Confetti); Memento Luxe Gray Flannel and Love Letter inks (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); Hit the Slopes dies (My Favorite Things); Baby Blue Liquid Pearls (Ranger); foam tape
