Shoot for the Stars

Shoot for the Stars card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps from Lawn Fawn
Here's my card for the current Lawnfawnatics black, white, and bright challenge.  My bright color comes from the galaxy background I created for my card using distress inks.  The pink and yellow at the center provide a fun, bright pop to the dark panel.  For the white, I added some die cut stitched clouds at the bottom of the panel. The "shoot for the stars" sentiment from Lawn Fawn's Out of This World set was stamped on the clouds in black ink.  To fill in the sky, I created an interactive rocket element using the set's rocket image and a channel die. I reserved the piece cut out with the die to place on the card base, lined up with the die cut opening so that the galaxy background doesn't have a gap in it.  The rocket was partly paper pieced and partly colored with Copic markers, then cut out with the matching die.  After setting the rocket in the channel and placing foam tape on the back of the panel, I adhered it to a black card base.

Materials Used:
Out of This World stamp set, Out of This World dies (Lawn Fawn); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); Mustard Seed, Picked Raspberry, Mermaid Lagoon, Stormy Sky, and Black Soot distress inks (Ranger); markers (Copic); Basic Black and Shimmery White cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Recollections Silver cardstock (Michaels); Landscape Trio dies (Mama Elephant); Surf and Turf dies (My Favorite Things); foam tape
