Sorry I Was So Prickly

Here's my card for the current Fusion challenge.  I paired the sketch with elements from the inspiration photo, including the cactus image and the color scheme, to create my design.

Sorry I Was So Prickly card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Lil' Inker Designs
I used the So Prickly Cactus dies from Lil' Inker Designs to create the focal image for my card.  The plants were die cut from watercolor cardstock that I inked with various shades of distress oxides.  After cutting out the plants and the pot, I arranged them on a light aqua card base with a strip of green cardstock along the left side.  I used foam tape on some of the layers of the plant and pot to give it dimension, even though the die cut pieces have lots of details that add interest.  For the sentiment, I did a little creative die cutting to get an extended stitched sentiment flag to stamp on.  I used teal ink to stamp the apology sentiment from the coordinating So Prickly stamp set, then positioned the stitched strip beneath the cactus along with a contrasting teal strip.

Materials Used:
So Prickly stamp set, So Prickly Cactus and Stitched Sentiment Flag dies (Lil' Inker Designs); Cracked Pistachio, Peeled Paint, and Wilted Violet distress oxides (Ranger); Tranquil Teal ink (Gina K Designs); Aqua Mist and Simply Chartreuse cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Bermuda Bay cardstock (Stampin' Up!); foam tape
