Happy Birthday to You

I whipped up a fun birthday card for this month's Mix it Up Challenge at SugarPea Designs, using both the sketch and elements from the inspiration photo as inspiration. The tag element is the heart of the design.  I cut the tag from pink cardstock using SPD's Gift Tag die.  It's topped with a pair of balloons cut with a die from the Birthday Journal Card die set and the large, elegant "you" from the You die set.  I stamped the "happy birthday to" sentiment from the You stamp set on bright pink cardstock in white pigment ink, then heat embossed it before positioning the strip on the tag with one end tucked beneath the balloons.  After knotting a piece of bright pink ribbon at the top of the tag, I adhered it to a pale pink card base covered with dotty pink patterned paper.  A trio of blue sequins arranged around the tag completed the festive design.
