Coffee Solves Everything
Here's my card for this month's Mix it Up challenge at SugarPea Designs. I combined elements from both the sketch (the striped background) and the inspiration photo (the coffee and color scheme) to put together my simple design.
Instead of using a die cut striped panel for the background, I used a striped patterned paper panel adhered to a kraft cardstock card base. The kraft was a nod to the woodgrain elements in the inspiration photo. I used SPD's Coffee to Go Cup die to create a to go cup. It was adhered to the bottom left side of the panel over a length of looped twine. For the sentiment, I used one of the Coffee Words dies to die cut the word "coffee" three times from brown cardstock. After layering the three pieces for dimension, I adhered them to the panel, overlapping the die cut piece. The "solves everything" sentiment from the coordinating Caffeine Addict stamp set was stamped just beneath the die cut word in brown ink. I purposely positioned the die cut elements so that the text would be stamped on one of the white stripes, making it easy to read amid the stripes.
Materials Used:
Caffeine Addict stamp set, Coffee to Go Cup and Coffee Words dies (SugarPea Designs); Memento Rich Cocoa ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); markers (Copic); Close to Cocoa cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Kraft cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Splendid Sunshine 6x6 paper pad (Echo Park); twine (Hemptique)
