Sending Love

Here's my card for this week's challenge at Global Design Project.  I used the sketch to make a card that would work nicely for Valentine's Day.

Sending Love card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Lil' Inker Designs
I replaced the oval in the sketch with a large dotted heart die cut from red cardstock.  For a contrasting background, I used a piece of paper from an older patterned paper pad with a repeated text background.  After adding a piece of black cardstock across the patterned paper panel and wrapping it with some black baker's twine, I added the heart on top using foam tape for dimension.  I used a paper punch to make a silver scallop edged strip to put over the heart for the sentiment. The "love" sentiment from one of the stamps in the I'll Be Brief stamp set from Lil' Inker Designs was stamped on the right side of the silver strip.  I die cut the word "sending" from gray paper and added it on top of the silver strip to finish the card.

Materials Used:
I'll Be Brief stamp set, Sending You and Dual Dotted Heart dies (Lil' Inker Designs); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); Basic Black cardstock, scallop edge punch (Stampin' Up!); Weathervane cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Red Punch and Silver cardstock (Recollections); Love Me 6x6 paper pad (My Mind's Eye); black baker's twine; foam tape
