Fluttering by to Say Hi
Here's my card for the current challenge at CAS Colours and Sketches. I put some of my new Lawn Fawn stamps to use on this simple, sweet design.
I represented the two curved shapes at the top and bottom of the layout with some stenciled scenery--clouds at the top and grass at the bottom. The distress oxides I used covered the colored cardstock nicely. To fill in the scene, I colored the bunny and a butterfly from the Butterfly Kisses stamp set with Copic markers, then cut out the colored images using my Scan 'n Cut machine. It's hard to see in the photo, but the bunny has a little texture on his belly and tail courtesy of some white flock. I used foam tape to adhere the images to the cardfront. The butterfly's dotted flight trail and the hello sentiment were stamped directly on the cardfront using a blue ink that was just a tiny bit darker than the card base--I thought that black would be a little too overpowering with the soft colors on the rest of the card.
Materials Used:
Butterfly Kisses stamp set (Lawn Fawn); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); Cookie Monster ink (Taylored Expressions); Peeled Paint and Broken China distress oxides (Ranger); markers (Copic); Aqua Mist cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Grassy Edges and Cloud stencils (My Favorite Things); white flock (Stampendous); foam tape
