Super Birthday

One of my coworkers has a little guy who will be celebrating his first birthday in just a few days.  This card for the current My Favorite Things Birthday Project challenge is heading his way to mark the occasion.

Super Birthday card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from My Favorite Things
I colored up the Super Boy image using Copic markers.  To make a background for the image, I die cut the Skyline Border die from gray cardstock and the Solid Skyline die from yellow cardstock, then layered the pieces before adhering them to a blue cardstock panel.  I placed a solid yellow cardstock strip beneath the skyline pieces, positioning a narrow strip of silver cardstock on the panel to hide the seam between the pieces.  The image was added on top using foam tape for dimension.  I stamped the birthday sentiment from the You're Super set on a yellow fishtail flag and positioned it to the left of the image.  For the challenge's number element, I used a shiny red chipboard "1" from my stash, positioned just to the left of the image and surrounded with a trio of gold glitter enamel dots.  The finished panel was adhered to a red card base to match the number.

Materials Used:
Super Boy and You're Super stamp sets, Super Boy, Skyline Border, Solid Skyline, and Fishtail Flag STAX dies (My Favorite Things); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); markers (Copic); Yoyo Yellow, Brocade Blue, and Real Red cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Smokey Shadow cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Silver cardstock (Recollections); red metallic Alphachips stickers (Me and My Big Ideas); gold glitter enamel dots (Eyelet Outlet); foam tape
