CAS Colours & Sketches-Challenge 320

I am so excited to be joining the team at CAS Colours & Sketches as a guest designer for the month of May!  The first challenge of the month is a fabulous color challenge using Mango Melody, Garden Green, and Melon Mambo.  I paired the colors with stamps from Paper Smooches for this tropical themed design.

Work that Crown card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Paper SmoochesI used Copic markers to color a pineapple image from the Pineapple Crush stamp set, then cut out the colored image with the matching die.  For the background, I adhered an angled piece of Melon Mambo textured cardstock edged with a narrow strip of mango-ish cardstock to the lower left side of a white cardstock panel.  The pineapple was adhered on top using foam tape for dimension.  I stamped the "work that crown" sentiment from the coordinating Pineapple Crush 2 set to the right in bright pink ink.  To bring in a touch more of the green, I cut a narrow fishtail flag strip from Garden Green cardstock and tucked it underneath the raised pineapple image.  The panel was matted on mango cardstock, then adhered to a Melon Mambo card base.  A trio of gold enamel dots arranged around the image completed the design.

Be sure to stop by the CAS Colours & Sketches blog for all the details on the challenge!
