Color Throwdown 542-Celebrate Your Special Day

It's time for another Color Throwdown!  Barbara is our hostess this week with a beautiful mix of colors-- aqua/blue, coral/peach, green and kraft.  I paired the colors with the current challenge at Sunday Stamps for this feminine, floral design.

Celebrate Your Special Day card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Lil' Inker DesignsI used the Sweet Celebration stamps and dies from Lil' Inker Designs to create the pretty heart-shaped wreath and the small floral spray.  The die cut pieces were arranged on the right side of a piece of peach on peach striped patterned paper, using foam tape on the backs of the flowers for dimension.  I dotted the center of each flower with a tiny pale blue pearl for more dimension and a little shine.  For the sentiment, I used LID's Celebrate Word die to cut the word "celebrate" three times from coral cardstock. After layering the pieces for dimension, I adhered it to the patterned paper panel overlapping the heart wreath.  The "your special day" sentiment was stamped on an aqua curved banner and positioned beneath the "celebrate" with one end tucked underneath the floral cluster. I accented it with a trio of green enamel dots.  The finished panel was adhered to an aqua card base.

To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post.  As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine.  Just be sure that the challenge colors are the dominant ones in your project.  And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD542.  If you upload your projects on social media, go ahead and use the hashtag #ctd542 and #colorthrowdown.  You can find us on Instagram and on Facebook with the username colorthrowdown.  Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team, May's Guest Designer, Cécile Ribon, and this week's Guest Star Stamper, Lisa Mensing.

  2. I always love the design of these wreath diecuts, reminiscent of grape vines. Perfectly offset with flowers, and coordinate with the sentiment beautifully. Thanks for joining Sunday Stamps this week.
