Color Throwdown 549-Happy Birthday

It's time for another Color Throwdown!  Vickie is our hostess this week with a great color combination--blue, orange, and gray.  I paired the colors with the current sketch at CAS(e) this Sketch to create this clean and simple birthday card.

I built my design on a gray card base.  A blue dotted patterned paper panel, matted on coordinating navy cardstock and adhered to the right side of the cardfront, was the first element I assembled.  Once that was in place, I tucked a strip of orange cardstock with rounded edges beneath the left edge of the matted panel. The "happy  birthday" sentiment from the I'll Be Brief set from Lil' Inker Designs was stamped at the top of the orange strip in navy ink.  It doesn't look navy on the orange, but I promise it is!  I accented the pieces with a sparkly silver stitched die cut star.
