Color Throwdown 550-The Berry Best

It's time for another Color Throwdown!  Wanda is our hostess this week with a great mix of colors--red, green, black, and white.

Berry Best card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Reverse ConfettiThe colors were drawn from a photo featuring a watermelon (cake), so my mind went to fruit for my card.  I went with strawberries instead of watermelon and created a pair of big berries using Reverse Confetti's Berry Sweet stamps and dies.  My layout is based on the current sketch at CAS(e) this Sketch.  The berries were adhered to the top right side of a white card base.  I edged the left side of the cardfront with a strip of red gingham paper.  Something about that pattern just says "summer" to me!  A narrow strip of solid red cardstock transitions the patterned panel to the solid card front.  I used Versafine Clair Nocturne ink to stamp the sentiment over the patterned paper and white card base.  This is my favorite ink for sentiments because it gives such a crisp, dark impression.

To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post.  As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine.  Just be sure that the challenge colors are the dominant ones in your project.  And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD550.  If you upload your projects on social media, go ahead and use the hashtag #ctd550 and #colorthrowdown.  You can find us on Instagram and on Facebook with the username colorthrowdown.  Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team, July's Guest Designer, Susie Moore, and this week's Guest Star Stamper, Stef Perry.
