My Sun, My Moon, and All of My Stars
Here's my card for the current My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge. I created a vivid galaxy style background for my star themed design.
The galaxy background was made with a mix of distress inks applied to a watercolor paper panel. I adhered the finished panel to a rich purple card base, then added a matching purple strip across the cardfront for the sentiment. The sentiment panel was edged with narrow strips of hot pink cardstock that coordinates with the galaxy background to set it off from the panel. I stamped the "you are my sun, my moon, and all of my" sentiment from the Count the Stars set on the purple strip in silver ink, then heat embossed it in silver. To finish the text, I die cut the word "stars" from both silver cardstock and craft foam. After layering the pieces for dimension, I adhered it to the sentiment panel. I used the Lucky Stars die set to cut a trio of stars from silver cardstock and adhered the cards around the sentiment, tucking part of the two larger stars beneath the sentiment panel.
Materials Used:
Count the Stars stamp set, Stars and Wishes and Lucky Stars dies (My Favorite Things); Delicata Silvery Shimmer ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); Picked Raspberry, Wilted Violet, Mustard Seed, Faded Jeans, Stormy Sky, and Black Soot distress inks (Ranger); Raspberry Fizz and Royal Velvet cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Silver cardstock (Recollections); silver embossing powder (Hero Arts); craft foam
