You Are My Sunshine

Here's my card for the 400th challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.  I used the layout for a cheerful design featuring stamps from Paper Smooches.

I colored up the adorable mug from the Sunnyville stamp set with Copic markers.  It's hard to see in the photo, but I added a little sparkle to the cloud with the help of a glitter brush pen.  Since I was too lazy to pull out my Scan 'n Cut to cut out the colored image, I did a little fussy cutting to cut the image out.  Not quite as clean as the machine, but it looks okay!

I found a pair of complementary cheery patterned papers from a Doodlebug Design paper pad and cut two panels to make a background for the cup. After matting them on yellow cardstock, I arranged them on a blue cardstock panel along with a strip of yellow cardstock edged with a narrow turquoise strip for contrast.  The colored image was adhered on top using foam tape for dimension.  I stamped the set's "you are my sunshine" sentiment directly on the yellow patterned paper.  A trio of shiny silver brads were adhered to the upper right corner of the panel, then the finished panel was adhered to a yellow card base matching the strip across the cardfront.

Materials Used:
Sunnyville stamp set (Paper Smooches); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); markers (Copic); clear Sparkle glitter brush pen (Spectrum Noir); Harvest Gold cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Tempting Turquoise cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Sunkissed 6x6 paper pad (Doodlebug Design); silver brads; foam tape
