It's time for another Color Throwdown! Barbara is our hostess this weekend with a pretty mix of colors--cobalt blue, aqua, gray, and black. I paired the colors with the current sketch from CAS(e) this Sketch and some new goodies from Mama Elephant to create this winter themed interactive card.
I just got my order from Mama Elephant's latest release and couldn't wait to try them out, so I inked up an adorable little bear from the Snow Angels stamp set. I colored up the bear in shades of blue, gray, and black using Copic markers, then used my Scan 'n Cut to cut out the colored image. It's hard to see in the photo, but I added a little white flock to the pom pom on the hat to give it a fluffy look.
For the background, I stamped the snow angel outline image in Versamark ink on a pale aqua cardstock panel, then heat embossed the image with a shimmery embossing powder. I used a hole punch to make a hole inside the outline, then secured the colored image within the outline using a spinner disc. The disc lets the image rotate from side to side within the snow angel outline. I stamped the "tis the season to be jolly" sentiment from the Holiday Messages set just beneath the images in black ink. The finished panel was adhered to a cobalt blue card base.
To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. Just be sure that the challenge colors are the dominant ones in your project. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD562 If you upload your projects on social media, go ahead and use the hashtag #ctd562 and #colorthrowdown. You can find us on Instagram and on Facebook with the username colorthrowdown. Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team and this week's Guest Star Stamper, Andrea MacTrinh.
