Batty for You

Batty for You card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Paper SmoochesHere's my card for the current challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.  I took advantage of the layout's large panel to make a scene for yet another Halloween themed design.  For this one, I used distress oxides on watercolor paper to create a night sky.  The glowing moon was created with the help of a round mask and yellow distress ink.  I dribbled on a little water to make stars in the sky.  Once the panel was done, I added a "branch" cut with one of the Paper Smooches Trees 1 dies.  The bat image from the Falling for You stamp set was suspended from the branch.  I matted the panel on a piece of navy cardstock, then adhered it to the left side of an eggplant purple card base, leaving a border around the top, bottom, and right side of the image panel.

To go with the image, I combined two of the set's sentiments to stamp "batty for you" on a narrow yellow cardstock strip. The strip was placed at the bottom of the image panel, extending on to the card base.  I accented the image with a trio of hearts cut with PS's Tiny Hearts dies. These hearts may be tiny, but I've found they are the perfect finishing touch for so many cards!

Materials Used:
Falling for You stamp set, Falling for You, Trees 1, and Tiny Hearts dies (Paper Smooches); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); Mustard Seed distress ink and Broken China, Faded Jeans, and Wilted Violet distress oxides (Ranger); Elegant Eggplant, Night of Navy, and Crushed Curry cardstock (Stampin' Up!); circle punch (EK Success); foam tape
