A Little Birdie Told Me

Here's my card for the current challenge at Global Design Project.  I used elements from the inspiration card, including the layout, the bird theme, and color scheme to create this card.

A Little Birdie Told Me card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps from WPlus9
I colored one of the stylized birds from WPlus9's Happy Birds stamp set in soft pinks and browns, then cut out the colored image with the matching die.  After stamping the set's branch image on a pink pierced rectangle in kraft ink, I added the bird and a pair of shimmery white clouds to the panel using foam tape for dimension.  The panel was matted on kraft cardstock, then adhered to a celery green card base edged with some pretty floral patterned paper.  To set the paper off from the rest of the card base, I layered a strip of delicate cream trim at the seam where the patterned paper meets the card base.  The "a little birdie told me" sentiment was stamped at the bottom of the pink panel in kraft ink to complete the design.

Materials Used:
Happy Birds stamp set, Happy Birds dies (WPlus9); Memento Tuxedo Black and Toffee Crunch inks (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); markers (Copic); Certainly Celery cardstock (Stampin' Up!); cardstock (Recollections); Kraft cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Crystal Stardream cardstock (The Paper Cut); Kioshi 6x6 paper pad (Basic Grey); Pierced Rectangle STAX dies (My Favorite Things); cream trim (Hobby Lobby); foam tape
