Wishing You a Fin-tastic Day

Here's my card for the current Fusion challenge.  I paired the bones of the sketch with elements from the inspiration photo (mermaid theme and color scheme) to create this sweet design.

Wishing You a Fin-tastic Day card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Reverse Confetti
The mermaid image is from Reverse Confetti's Mermaid Kisses stamp set.  I colored the image with Copic markers and added a little sparkle to the mermaid's tail using a glitter brush pen, then cut out the colored image with the matching die.  For the background, I found a piece of blue on blue wave patterned paper from an older patterned paper pad and cut out a narrow oval shape from the paper.  I adhered the oval to a pale purple card base, then added the mermaid image on top using foam tape.  The set's "wishing you a fin-tastic day" sentiment was stamped on a pink rectangle.  After trimming the sentiment, I adhered it to the oval using foam tape for dimension.  A trio of clear flat sequins were arranged around the sentiment for a final touch of sparkle.

Materials Used:
Mermaid Kisses stamp set, Mermaid Kisses dies (Reverse Confetti); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); markers (Copic); clear Sparkle glitter brush pen (Spectrum Noir); Lilac Grace and Sweet Blues cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Splash 6x6 paper pad (Echo Park); petite oval dies (Spellbinders); clear sequins (Pretty Pink Posh); foam tape
