It's Your Birthday
One of my co-workers celebrated a birthday this week, so I made a card to mark the occasion. The layout is from the current challenge at CAS Colours and Sketches. The layered circles were perfect for showing off one of the sweet ladies from Mama Elephant's You're So Lovely stamp set. I colored the image with Copic markers, then used my Scan 'n Cut machine to cut out the colored image. I adhered the image to a red circle using foam tape. To go behind the image, I positioned a contrasting pink circle on a red cardfront, then added strips of red chevron washi tape and silver cardstock at the bottom of the circle. The image panel was placed on top, centered on the slightly larger pink circle. For the sentiment, I stamped the "yay! it's your birthday" sentiment from ME's Birthday Messages stamp set on the silver strip to finish the card.
Materials Used:
You're So Lovely and Birthday Messages stamp sets (Mama Elephant); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); markers (Copic); Lovely Lady cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Silver and Red Punch cardstock (Recollections); circle dies (Spellbinders); red chevron washi tape; foam tape

Lori, I really like your bold use of color! It seems like a lot of people take the term "white space" literally, but you consistently use fun colors and simple patterns to crush that idea while keeping your cards clean and simple. Thanks so much for sharing your artwork with us at CC&S! :)
ReplyDeleteScan & Cut looks quite useful cutting along the edge of the image. It looks so nice. Watching a smile on the girl make me smile, too. Thank you for playing along with CC&S challenge.
ReplyDeleteCute card! Great take on the sketch and thanks for joining us this week at CC&S!
