Paw Prints Left on Our Hearts

Here's my card for the current My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge.  I used the layout to make a pet sympathy card.

Paw Prints Left on Our Hearts card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from My Favorite ThingsI die cut a large pierced heart shape from red cardstock and adhered it to the bottom right side of a kraft cardstock panel.  I stamped one of the thoughtful sentiments from the Critter Condolences stamp set in red ink on a kraft cardstock strip.  After adhering a slightly longer chocolate brown fishtail flag strip beneath the bottom edge of the sentiment strip, I adhered the layered strips over the heart panel.  I stamped two of the images from the set, the heart with the embedded paw print and one of the tiny paw prints, on kraft cardstock, then fussy cut each stamped image.  The images were adhered to the heart beneath the sentiment strip using foam tape for dimension  I added a single red enamel heart to the left side of the kraft panel above the heart, completing the visual triangle of images.  The finished panel was adhered to a chocolate brown card base to match the fishtail flag strip tucked underneath the sentiment.

Materials Used:
Critter Condolences stamp set, Electric Red ink, Pierced Heart STAX and Fishtail Flag STAX dies (My Favorite Things); Memento Rich Cocoa ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); Chocolate Chip cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Kraft cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Red Punch cardstock, red enamel heart  (Recollections); foam tape
