Peace on Earth

Here's my card for the current challenge at Global Design Project.  Since I used Paper Smooches stamps and dies, it's also my entry for the current PS anything goes challenge.

Peace on Earth card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Paper Smooches
When I saw the sketch I immediately thought of cascading snowflakes. The PS Huge Snowflakes dies were perfect for what I had in mind.  I cut an assortment of flakes from silver cardstock and arranged them on a purple cardstock panel, positioning the largest flake so that it extended off of the panel just a bit.  I adhered the flake-filled panel to a blue card base with about an inch of the right front side cut off.  The "peace on earth" sentiment from the PS Christmas Sampler stamp set was stamped in silver ink on a narrow navy cardstock strip and heat embossed in silver, then adhered to the purple panel using foam tape for dimension.  For contrast and interest, I placed a strip of plaid patterned paper with shades  of cool blues, purples, and green on the portion of the inside right side of the cardfront that is visible when the card is closed.  A few silver sequins nested in among the flakes completed the design.

Materials Used:
Christmas Sampler stamp set Huge Snowflakes dies (Paper Smooches); Delicata Silvery Shimmer ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); Winter Wisteria cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Night of Navy cardstock, silver embossing powder (Stampin' Up!); Silver cardstock (Recollections); patterned paper; silver sequins; foam tape
