Here's my card for the current Fusion challenge. I combined the layout with elements from the inspiration photo (color scheme, watercolor look, and insect theme) for this butterfly themed greeting.
My focal image is the butterfly image from The Stamp Market's Papillon stamp set. I stamped the image once with vibrant blue and purple inks, then cut out the stamped image with the matching die. To get a dimensional effect, I used the die to cut a second butterfly, this one from vellum. I layered the pieces, securing the vellum layer only at the center of the butterfly image so that I could fold up the wings to give the feeling that the image was in motion. The butterfly was adhered to the left side of a pale blue cardstock panel over a watercolor-like panel of patterned paper. For the sentiment, I die cut the word "hello" from purple cardstock and adhered it to the right of the butterfly image. To finish the sentiment, I stamped the phrase "you're in my thoughts" in white pigment ink on a narrow dark purple fishtail flag strip and heat embossed the text so it would stand out from the dark background. The strip was adhered to the panel beneath the die cut word with one edge tucked beneath the butterfly image. The finished panel was adhered to a purple card base to match the sentiment strip.
