Peace on Earth

Peace on Earth card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Paper Smooches

Here's my card for the current challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.  I used the layout for a winter themed holiday design.

The large silver snowflakes positioned diagonally across from each other on two corners of the lighter purple panel were cut with the largest die from the Paper Smooches Huge Snowflakes die set. For extra sparkle, I added a clear crystal to the center of each flake. The "peace on Earth" sentiment from the Christmas Sampler stamp set was stamped in silver ink on a dark purple cardstock strip, then heat embossed in silver for more sparkle and shine. The flakes were pretty big, so I didn't have room for a fancy label shape for my sentiment!  I matted the sentiment strip on silver cardstock before adhering it to the center of the light purple panel with foam tape. The finished panel was adhered to a dark purple card base to match the sentiment strip.

Materials Used:
Christmas Sampler stamp set, Huge Snowflakes dies (Paper Smooches); Delicata Silvery Shimmer ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); Winter Wisteria and Royal Velvet cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Silver cardstock, clear self-adhesive crystals (Recollections); silver embossing powder (Stampin' Up!); foam tape
