You Tickle My Fancy

You Tickle My Fancy card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from My Favorite Things
Here's my card for the current challenge at Global Design Project.  I included several elements from the inspiration card, including the feather theme, the faux embossed background, and the bones of the layout, for my love themed design.

For my faux embossed panel, I used a bunch of red pierced heart die cuts.  They were arranged as evenly spaced as I could possibly eye them on a red panel.  After trimming the ends of the die cut pieces that extended beyond the sides of the panel, I adhered it to a contrasting black card base. The feather was die cut from pale gray cardstock and brushed with some silver ink for interest and sparkle.  I used foam tape to adhere it to the red panel over a strip of silver cardstock. The "you tickle my fancy" sentiment from the My Favorite Things Right on Target stamp set was stamped in black ink on a narrow slanted die cut strip, then tucked beneath the raised feather.  A simple black twine bow positioned just next to the feather completed the design.

Materials Used:
Right on Target stamp set, Grout Gray cardstock, Feathers and Arrows, Pierced Heart STAX, and Slanted Sentiment Strips dies (My Favorite Things); Memento Tuxedo Black and Delicata Silvery Shimmer inks (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); Silver and Red Punch cardstock (Recollections); Basic Black cardstock (Stampin' Up!); black twine (Hemptique); foam tape
